MMF was first established in 1956 as Levikintarkastus Oy, for auditing print circulations. In 1970’s readership measurement was added as well as auditing of fairs and events. In 2004 the name of the company was changed to Media Audit Finland Oy. In October 2024 at a company acquisition the name changed to Media Metrics Finland. At that point MMF took over the ownership and administration of the Finnish on-line audience measurement and streaming services/on-line video advertising measurement.

As a member of AMC, Media Metrics Finland is committed to and applies the principles agreed upon by the coalition members in its own operations when conducting audience measurements.
